Use a giant Jenga tower to simulate our energy grid. Be careful balancing the grid – if it falls, you will cause a blackout!
Mad Science: Watts-Up!
This is the moment to discover the world of static electricity! Kids see sparks fly from an electrostatic machine—the Van de Graaff generator. They learn the basic properties of an electric charge, and find ways to distinguish between static electricity and electrical current. They learn to generate static to test the movement of electrons on everyday objects.
The Citizen Science Lab: Colorful Chemistry 3-4pm
It’s a rule as old as time: Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. So where does that energy go? This program will demonstrate to students that energy has to go somewhere – not be lost forever. What object can act like a solid and a liquid at the same time? – Presented by Covestro.
